3mm Cork Underlay Natural Eco Friendly (10 m2)

Natural Cork flooring underlay is made from 100% pure natural cork. Cork underlay provides a significant increase in acoustic and thermal insulation of all floors types and effectively compensates for minor sub-floor imperfections. It absorbs impact sound and airborne sound, meaning the floor is quieter, warmer and much more pleasant to walk on.

On a millimetre for millimetre basis cork provides better sound reduction than any other underlay.Cork acoustic underlay is suitable for use under all floor types – laminates and solid woods or as an extra resilient layer under traditional floors in apartments.

All our pure cork products meet the 2014 Part E requirement of 17DB as a resilient layer. In this scenario the product is fixed to the floor to remain as part of the building. It is best practice (for noise reduction) to lay an additional regular underlay on top.

To glue the adhesive – Generally tackifier is used. It is low cost and applied with a paint roller:

PLEASE BEWARE: if you intend to glue tiles or wood floor on top – then our cork product is not suitable. In that case you need a complete system where the strength of the cork bond to the floor is equal to the bond strength of the tile or wood floor adhesive, and you also will need a cork and rubber composite (not a pure cork as advertised here)
