For wood flooring installations – On a millimetre for millimetre basis no other underlay provides better sound insulation than natural cork
Cork and cork composite underlays provide two main benefits – they can be installed as a regular stand alone (extremely low TOG) underlay for use with wood or laminate products. Alternatively – they are installed as a sub-floor underlay, designed to become part of the building and for use under all flooring types. In this case they require the installation of another flooring underlay on top. When the flooring is changed the top underlay is generally changed too, but the cork layer remains as part of the building.

– If using cork underlay over underfloor heating systems we do not recommend the use of any additional underlay.
