Natural Cork flooring underlay is made from 100% pure natural cork. Cork underlay provides a significant increase in acoustic and thermal insulation of all floors types and effectively compensates for minor sub-floor imperfections. It absorbs impact sound and airborne sound, meaning the floor is quieter, warmer and much more pleasant to walk on. On a millimetre for millimetre basis cork provides better sound reduction than any other underlay.Cork acoustic underlay is suitable for use under all floor types - laminates and solid woods, as an extra resilient layer under carpets, as a stuck down underlay for lino, vinyl and natural stones and ceramic tiles. All our pure cork products meet the 2014 Part E requirement of 17DB as a resilient layer. In this scenario the product is fixed to the floor to remain as part of the building. While not absolutely necessary it is best practice (for noise reduction) to lay an additional regular underlay on top.
